Things to Do in Maui
Anyone ever use Jetsetter to book a luxury hotel? We have and there is no shame in our game for saving on bougie travel. During our second trip to the Hawaiian Islands, we found a great deal for our trip to Maui from this luxury travel website for our hotel stay. We stayed at the beautiful Andaz Wailea. We loved waking up to a view of the ocean every day! YOLO!
Maui has so many deserted beaches. Each one was very unique. We were driving our rental car and stumbled upon this hidden gem at dusk. We were the only ones there. Never had that experience before, it was hella dope!
That same day, we left too late to make it in time for the infamous drum circle at Little Beach so we ended up staying at Big Beach to watch the sunset. The blue pink sky at dusk changed into a stunning fiery glow.
Visiting a black sand beach has been on our bucket list for years! We downloaded Road to Hana Gypsy Guide for our half day drive. It was an experience that we will never forget. It remains one of our top 10 most beautiful beaches we’ve ever visited so far. Have you ever experienced a landscape or sight so beautiful that you became emotional? Shay wiped away tears upon approaching the beach. We were hoping to make it all the way to Na’ili’ili Haele or bamboo forest but it was getting late and it is dangerous to drive at night on the spiraly roads. For real though, you cannot drive at night and will have to make accommodations in advance. We headed back to our hotel and stopped at Mama’s Fish House for a sunset dinner.
The next day, we headed over to Lahaina for our surf lessons with Maui Surfer Girls, yaaas Queens! We had a ball! The waves were huge that day. Shay ended up having to bail since she got really nauseous from the rocky waves.
Since Maui is all about outdoor actives and food, we asked a few friends for advice and used Trip Advisor to plan our trip. We gotta give a shout out to our friends for all the advice! We had an amazing time and hope that this post will give you some ideas on what to do during your stay in Maui. Happy Trekking!
